Comparing and Ordering Decimals

The student will compare and order decimals in a given set from least to greatest.

Goal:

The primary goal is to develop an understanding of hundredths being smaller than tenths and located between tenths on a number line.  The student will program a robot to move given rotations in tenths and hundredths and calculate the distance traveled.  Students will plot their rotations on a number line.

Shortest distance with Robots

Students will use a preprogrammed robot to confirm or deny that the shortest distance between 2 points is a straight line.

Probability Robot/ Probability and Statistics

To predict probable outcomes of the robot kicking a soccer ball into a goal from 10 feet away.

Perimeter Robot

Use robot equipped with light sensor to measure the length of a linear path and perimeter of a square.
